Today I went digging in the vinyl stacks for my favourite kind of music -- late seventies, eighties, and early nineties pop! Can you believe CFUV has two Housemartins albums? Shop Assistants? The self-titled Pastels? Thank god they haven't been stolen, as the s/t Mudhoney had been. My further forays into Rivers Cuomo's home solo recordings proved an unexpected delight. (If I had thought at all, I would have expected it, considering I ♥♥♥ older Weezer.) Paul Simon made his first (his only?) appearance on the show today. Sunday Surprise sat in a hot on-air booth smelling the heating latex of pink and purple balloons left over from a very successful Women's Radiothon last Friday.
